Mike and I decided when we started Pickle of the Month that our product must project a “professional” appearance. Not “professional” as in “stuffy and boring”, but “professional” as in “we look like a real company, so you can trust us”. We will be doomed to ship a paltry sum of pickles if our customers don’t trust our product. Conversely, we have a fighting chance if we project an image that makes our customers feel comfortable parting with their hard-earned money.
Why am I babbling on about this? Because I like to babble and I am good at it. No, that’s not the reason, I bring this up because job #1 in establishing trust with our customers is creating a good logo. Nothing says, “We’re a shady operation” like a two-bit logo.
Lucky for us, my cousin Denise’s roommate happens to be a graphic designer. Even luckier for us is that she thinks our silly idea is funny, and agreed to help us out. Check out the batch of logos she just sent, I would love to hear what you think. Do they look professional? Would you trust us more or less if we slapped on of these on our website? Which is your favorite? Would they be funnier if a monkey were somehow involved?
